Goal
To expand Native Radio CIC onto DAB, increasing access to inclusive community broadcasting and ensuring diverse voices, local talent, and underrepresented communities can be heard across Wales and beyond.
What we do
Through the Native Radio DAB Expansion Programme, we are building the infrastructure, technology, and partnerships needed to deliver community-focused broadcasting to a wider audience. We provide a platform for local stories, emerging artists, cultural representation, and community conversations that reflect the real experiences of the people we serve.
Alongside broadcasting, we create opportunities for volunteers, presenters, producers, and aspiring media professionals to gain practical experience while contributing to meaningful community engagement.
Why it matters
Many communities remain underrepresented in mainstream media, with limited opportunities to share their stories and celebrate their culture. Access to community-led broadcasting strengthens representation, encourages participation, and creates opportunities for local talent to thrive.
Through the Native Radio DAB Programme, we are building a sustainable platform that connects communities, promotes creativity, and ensures local voices continue to play an important role in shaping the media landscape.
