Many young people dream of working in media but struggle to find opportunities that provide genuine industry experience. Native Next Academy was created to bridge that gap.

What makes the Academy unique is its commitment to learning by doing. Participants don't simply attend workshops; they actively create content, produce programmes, develop portfolios, and gain hands-on experience within a real media environment.

Over the years, Native Radio has helped more than ten young people successfully transition from student volunteers into professional roles across media, broadcasting, communications, and creative industries. Their journeys demonstrate what is possible when talent is matched with opportunity.

The Academy also works closely with media professionals, broadcasters, producers, journalists, and creative industry experts who provide mentorship, insight, and guidance to aspiring creators. These partnerships ensure participants gain exposure to real industry standards and expectations.

As the Academy grows, we are seeking additional partnerships with broadcasters, production companies, universities, creative organisations, and industry leaders who want to help shape the next generation of Welsh media professionals.
